The Rest of Summer

Sam wanted to help Charlie in the garden to earn extra points for the next day. The garden got a little out of control this year with such a busy summer and me unable to work in the garden past about June. There were lots of weeds to pull.

Brett wanted to join in. Since he couldn't pick the whole weed, he would take it a leaf at a time and put it in the weed pile.

We have loved having swings in our back yard! The boys love playing on them. Sam likes doing underdogs to Brett and making him laugh.

We got to go to the splash pad in Cowley with some cousins a few times. Brett didn't want to go alone and kept trying to drag me along. I went with him for a while, but he started going on his own a little.

While I was trying to get a picture of Brett, I was unknowingly standing right over one of those sprayers that you can see in the picture above. They're not always shooting water and are random when they start spraying. Luckily, I stepped back right before it started going off, or I would have gotten a rather unpleasant surprise.

We had a Savage family reunion at the end of July. We rented a water slide for the occasion. Sam loved it.

I think Brett was more content to sit in the grass and play with my mom's water bottle.

We headed over to the wading pool when it opened. The town had to put in a wheelchair ramp, which made the perfect running ramp for Brett.

Sam enjoyed having so many cousins to play with.

We had fun watching a bunch of the kids playing Annie Annie I Over. That was a game that we used to play all the time growing up.

We had lots of family come. It was nice to sit around and catch up. I think in this picture, we were looking at the massive dust cloud the kids had caused. For a while it was so big that we couldn't actually see any of the kids :)

Charlie took the boys to the Park County Fair. Sam had a couple cousins to go on the rides with.

Sam was excited to start school again. I don't think he has seen enough of his friends this summer.

He's on a Mario kick right now. Can you tell? :)
