Summer Break

We decided to take our time getting home last week. We took quite a few breaks. First we stopped in Casper for a picnic. We were able to go to a park and play with some cousins. It was fun, until the wind picked up. Even with it being cold, Sam didn't want to leave. Then we stopped in the canyon at a pond to feed the fish. We weren't sure if there were still fish in this pond, because we threw the food in and nothing happened. We stuck around to be out in the good weather (we haven't had much lately), and eventually, the fish started eating. They were just waiting for us not to pay attention. Sam enjoyed watching the fish come up to the surface. We brought some stale bread to see if we could get some birds around too. It worked, birds showed up, but they weren't sure about us. I think Sam's favorite was when a train came by. He loves trains! After the pond, we stopped in Thermop at a park for dinner. Sam ran and ran. Then we went through the park in Thermop to look at the Buffalo. Sam thought they were pretty cool. They were right up on the road. On the way home, we decided to stop by the pond again, and this time, I remembered to get pictures.
Here's a picture of the pond. There's another pond on the other side of the bridge.

Sam loved throwing bread into the water. It turns out fish like brea

He spent quite a while running back and forth across the bridge.
But then he got distracted by all the dandelions. He would pick them,
throw them in the water,
and watch them travel through the water.
No luck seeing any trains today though. There had been a pretty bad storm earlier in the week, and caused a bit of a landslide. It was enough to derail a train, to say the least.
