Ice Fishing

The one thing Charlie wanted to do during our break was to go ice fishing, and for some strange reason, he wanted me to come with him. We were going to go in the morning, but the night before we were going to go, Charlie decided he was going to go to the airport to pick up Clinton, and his plane didn't get in until 11:30 at night. Then he had to drive home from Billings after that. So he got in pretty late and didn't want to get up early, so we left at about noon. The weather was actually pretty nice. It was 24 degrees, and believe it or not, that's warm. Now, I usually get really bored when I go fishing, so I have to bring things to keep me entertained. I brought a book, and Puppers. Last time, I drilled holes in the ice, but all we had this time was a gas auger. Puppers thought it was too cold to come outside, so she stayed in the van the whole time.

She's not as young as she used to be.

And, yes, that is my book on fire. I started reading it, but it was making me mad to read it. I didn't know it when I bought it, but it's a pretty nasty book. So I decided I would enjoy fire more than reading.

Vengeance is sweet.

We did fairly well. We caught 4 fish. But the weather turned bad, so we decided to cut the trip a little short. By the time we got everything packed up, it was snowing pretty hard, and it was getting dark, so I'm glad we left when we did.

Fish are disgusting. I will tell you, I cringe in the corner of the ice hut as the fish keep flopping closer and closer to me. Gross!

It was a really fun trip. It's great to be able to spend time together, just me and Charlie. And I found a new way to lose weight! It's called the Puppers Diet. All you need is a black dog that begs for your food and you just can't say no to her. I think you can figure out the rest.

I was laughing as I pictured you "running" away from the flopping fish inside a tiny hut...that was a VERY funny thought...maybe it's funnier in my head than it acctually was, but still very funny.

No, I think Charlie would agree that it was actually funny watching me.
