We had to make sure that we got a family picture by one of the Yellowstone signs.
I forgot to write stuff down the rest of the trip. I think this is by the upper and lower falls. It was a great hike.
We went over to Mud Volcano. I think this was Sam loved seeing all the geothermal stuff. It was pretty much the only part of the trip that he was content just to sit there and watch.
The weather started turning bad.
Sam and I decided to hike down to Tower Falls while Charlie stayed with the two younger kids napping in the car. This is what we saw when we got back :)
We told Sam we were going to see a petrified tree.
Sam: What is a petrified tree?
Me: It's like a piece of petrified wood, but it's a whole tree.
Sam:...Petrified wood doesn't grow on trees.
It took us a long time to convince him that there was such a thing as a petrified tree. Even after we saw it, he said it was just a normal tree, not a petrified one.
This is how Amy would steer us where she wanted to go.
