We got up and headed over for their continental breakfast. We got all the kids their food and I fed Amelia, thinking I would get some food after they were done. Unfortunately, a big group of teenagers came in before she was done. I was able to get a little bit of food, but we needed to get going.
We all got ready, and I tried packing up. Unfortunately, Brett could reach all the door and kept getting out, so I was spending more time chasing him around than I was getting ready and packing. Charlie finally took all the kids and went somewhere while I packed up.
We were ready a lot earlier than we needed to be, so we just headed over to Star Valley. Our tickets weren't until 10:15, but we got there at 9:30. Luckily, there weren't a lot of people there, so they let us go in early. The temple was small but pretty. There was a lot of artwork of the surrounding area. Sam's favorite part was all the chandeliers. Charlie's favorite part was the celestial room. I think my favorite part was the bride's room. It had a lot of pretty stuff all over. Brett and Amelia were really good throughout the whole thing.
All the fall colors were so pretty during the drive back to Yellowstone.
Our first stop was Old Faithful. We only had to wait around for about half an hour. There were a lot of psych moments when it would spit out just a little bit of water, and then nothing.
Sam liked it when it finally went off.
After that we hiked around all the geysers in the area. I think it was Sam's favorite part. He said he wants to be a scientist when he grows up.
I had Amy in the baby wrap, and Charlie was in charge of Brett. He had it pretty rough. Brett loves to throw things in the water, and when you're in a place where throwing stuff in the water is highly prohibited, it's even harder.
It was a pretty long walk. By the end we were all sore. Sam's feet hurt from walking, Charlie's back hurt from carrying Brett on his shoulders, and my hips hurt from carrying Amy. I was really wishing I had brought the stroller on this walk.
Sam: It's awesome that I got to see a real live squirrel in action!" (We saw one digging something out of the ground, then eating it)
We called it a day. We were going to go to do a different hike but decided it was too late in the day, and we needed to head over to West Yellowstone for the night.
