Yellowstone Trip -Day 4-

We hit a big traffic jam trying to leave West Yellowstone. We assumed there was something really cool up ahead. Charlie was hoping it was a bear because we hadn't seen a bear yet. I believe it turned out to be deer.

We planned to hit all the geyser basins this day. I thought Sam would really like them. But it turned out to be a really cold and rainy day. We did our best, but this also seemed to be the day that everyone else was out in full force. It was packed! I still wanted to try to see Grand Prismatic Spring. I hiked up there with him and Brett while Charlie and Amy stayed in the car. When we finally got up there, it was so foggy that we could see a thing. Plus all the other people made it hard to enjoy it. We pretty much ran back down.

We stopped for lunch by Old Faithful. We had planned to do a picnic, but it was so wet and cold, we didn't think it would be fun at all. We came at just the right time. Right after we sat down, a big tour bus came in, and the place became packed! I got so claustrophobic. We ended up sharing our table with another couple. They thanked us by giving us their fries. They didn't speak English, so we couldn't tell them that we already had too many fries. We kept trying to give them back, but we were afraid they were going to be offended if we didn't take them, so we ended up just sticking them in a sack and out to our car.

We headed to Jackson for the night. Charlie had a conference (I don't remember the name of it) where he would be receiving an award that he had been nominated for.
