I made Sam some birthday pancakes. He wanted Star Wars. This one is Han Solo in carbanite
This one is Sam's face. I also had one that said MAS (I forgot I needed to do everything backwards), SAM, and BRETT. And a light saber. Maybe some others. I don't remember. That was way too long ago.
Then they fought each other.
Then they had to give Yoda his light saber
Sam (Corsa) was the closest. The yellow one was to show them where it was supposed to go.
Next they had to find Darth Vader in the galaxy. I had a little Lego mini figure that kind of looked like Darth Vader in one cup. All the other cups had a small piece of candy in them.
Brett wanted in on the action once he realized there was candy in there.
They had to fight the storm troopers.
Then fight Darth Vader. I was going to use a dart gun that Sam got for Christmas, but I couldn't find it anywhere, so I just used some Angry Pigs I made from his Angry Birds party a few years back.
Then they got certificates for finishing their training.
I went crazy simple on the food. Here are BB-8 cupcakes. Just orange cupcakes with white icing, silver and orange sprinkles, and a black fondant ball. I skipped out on any decorated cake.
We also had Ham Solo sandwiches, wookie cookies, carbonite jello, vaderade, Luke Skywater, and Yoda Soda (Sam's personal favorite)
Can you guess what that is? :)
Sam had a great time, and better yet, I didn't go all crazy on decorations and everything. I was pretty proud of myself :)
We also had a day for a family birthday get-together. I had some Christmas Star Wars wrapping paper, so I just went with that :)
I bought this bank during after-Christmas sales. He thought it was pretty cool that it would count your money and cheer for you when you put money in it, so I just gave it to him.
I bought these for the birthday party, but ended up not using it, so I just wrapped it and let Brett give it to Sam.
Big hug!
He likes coloring aunt Raegan's coloring books during church, but he kept using all mine up, so I got him one of his own. He was so excited!
The day before the last day of school, Sam started talking about how excited he was that he got to bring a birthday snack the final day. This was the first we heard about it. We weren't sure if he was supposed to bring something, so I just grabbed up a bunch of pudding cups we had left over from packing Sam's lunches. We were able to get a hold of his teacher just before school to ask if he was supposed to bring something, or if they would have time for a snack on the last day of school. She just laughed and told us that she wasn't aware that he was going to bring anything, but it was fine if he wanted to bring something. I'm glad that worked out. He would have been pretty disappointed :)
