Charlie was able to get a job in Lovell at the Lovell Individual and Family Therapy. As soon as we found out, we wanted to move as soon as we could so we would have time to get settled in before Charlie started working. Packing didn't go as smoothly as I would have liked, but considering I was 7 1/2 months pregnant at the time of the move and unable to do very much in a day, it went ok. The drive to Lovell was eventful. Apparently, there was a huge storm around Casper. Charlie was ahead of us in our truck, and I was in the car with my mom. We were having a hard time getting going, so we ended up about an hour behind Charlie. When we were on our way to Casper, Charlie called us and said that there was a tornado warning near Casper and we might be getting in some nasty weather. We figured he was misinformed, because all we could see was clear skies. When we got to Casper, Charlie called us and said that he was in a pretty good hail storm, and we were probably going to get hit. We were trying to decide a course of action, whether to wait in Casper for a while to try and miss it, or just keep going. When we found out that the storm was headed right for Casper, we figured there was no way to avoid it, so we might as well just go. We got into some pretty rough weather, lots of hail. It was freaking Sam out with how loud it was, so we were trying to stay calm and tell him there was nothing to worry about. When we got out of the storm, we pulled over at a rest stop. All the vehicles had some new dings and dents. Then we got to Shoshoni. There were people there that had gone through during the hour between Charlie and us. Their cars ended up totaled. Windshields were cracked and broken, and the cars themselves looked like golf balls with all the dents in them. Charlie ended up going through the start of the storm, and we went through an hour later. We lucked out pretty good that we didn't end up with worse.
Luckily, the weekend we moved, some of our family was on vacation in Lovell. We had lots of help unloading the truck and were able to get it done fairly quickly.
We went to Family Fun Night during Lovell's Days. Sam did a couple things, then was more interested in playing on the playground. I'm glad I didn't spend too much on tickets, because it would have been a huge waste of money. We finally coaxed him off the playground and used the rest of our tickets. His favorites were the blow-up slide and the bounce house.
When we were waiting in line for the bounce house, there was a group of older boys ahead of Sam. When they were in the bounce house, they were doing a bunch of flips and stuff. Sam thought that was pretty cool, and he decided to try it himself. So when it was his turn in the bounce house, he did his best at doing flips. This is his interpretation of a flip :)
Sam also loved the awesome glasses he got at one of the booths.
Well, I think that's really all that happened in June. At least that's all that has been documented on my camera :)
