Reading

Sam has been learning to read. He loves these books I got for him. They've been great with helping him learn new words, and the meaning of punctuation :) He asked Charlie one day what an exclamation point was. Charlie told him that's what people used when they were excited. Sam interpreted that to mean yelling. I mean, you yell when you're excited, right? Now, every time he sees an exclamation point, he yells as he reads. One time, he yelled so loud, he scared my grandpa :)

On my mom's wii, my brother's mii is named "Brian!" Sam decided to use that mii. My mom said his name was Brian. Then Sam turned to her and yelled, "Brian!" It took us a few seconds to make the connection that since his name had an exclamation point, you were supposed to yell it out. After that, every time Sam would talk about the mii, he would be sure to yell out the name, since that was the proper way to say it.
