Charlie got his first ever broken bone on Thursday. He was playing softball, and there was a play at home. He grabbed the ball and turned around to tag the guy. Well, the guy plowed right into Charlie's hand and knocked him over. This happened in the second inning. Charlie played the rest of the game because his team had a bunch of people gone. He walked in the door and said, "I think my hand might be broken." I said we should go to the emergency room. Then he said, "No, I don't think it's broken. I said I think it might be broken." He said he would wait until morning to see if it felt any better. Well, it didn't, so we headed on over to the doctor. He ordered x-rays, which showed that he had, in fact, broken his hand. We're still waiting to hear back to see if he needs to have surgery or anything. Right now, it's in a splint, which seems to help a lot.
We're trying to decide if he's faking it. I say he's faking it because now he doesn't have to change diapers or dress Sam. My bother says he's faking because in Lovell for softball, he was batting 1000, so he pretended to break his hand so no one could beat his average :) Obviously, he's not faking it. I don't think you can get your pinky to stick out that way without it being broken.
Our bishop called him out in Sacrament meeting today. Before church, we were talking about his injury. So our bishop got up and told everybody that Charlie might need a little comfort because he broke his hand in softball, and he dropped the ball so the guy was safe, and the team ended up losing. I guess that's what we get for going to church early :)
In other news, we're being released from nursery, and I'm being put in as primary pianist. I'm excited to have a calling where I can play the piano again.
Also, my new phone quit working. So if you've called me or texted me in the last few days and I didn't respond, I'm not trying to ignore you (In most cases :). I got switched back to my old phone, which I've had for over 3 years now, and it's still working. I wish they could make cell phones last like they used to.

That really sucks about Charlie's hand. I hope it heals quickly!
