That is the last time I buy jeans with holes already in them. They were all we could find at the time. Sam just can't help picking at the holes.
Charlie decided we needed to take a break and head up to the mountain for the day. The boys had a lot of fun throwing rocks into the creek. I'm glad that they had fun. Although Sam didn't like the rule that I made of no screens during the trip (I made an exception for the DVD player). He kept saying how bored he was without the iPad, even though he had a few books to read. I just tried to ignore him and told him that we needed to unplug for the trip. Don't worry, he survived :)
Sam climbed into bed with me to show me what he had made for me at school. There's a section on the right to put a check mark next to each trait your mom has. Apparently, I'm not cute or energetic, but I'm everything else :)
Mother's Day was pretty good. It was pretty low-key, which is great for me. Although this picture really spoke to me:
It wasn't too bad, really. It's just that Brett helped mix the juice for mother's day breakfast and ended up spilling half of it all over the place. Then it got stepped through all morning while they moved around the kitchen making the rest of breakfast. Then the rush that happens every Sunday happened...we'll just say the mess multiplied and it took a while before I was able to get all the sticky off of everything. One of my biggest pet peeves is having anything dirty on my feet, so it was really unpleasant.
The young women volunteered to take over primary so all the teachers could go to Relief Society. We made Mama and Me books so the kids could write notes back and forth to their moms. Sam was really excited to do it. He got one note written and left it on my bed. Then I wrote him a note and left it on his bed. Then he forgot about it and I haven't seen it since. Maybe I should remind him about it...
