November 2015

Charlie is now officially a counselor! He finished the hours that he needed in order to get his license.

There was supposed to be a really bad storm on Thanksgiving, and we were supposed to go to Billings. Charlie's dad suggested we leave a day early and get a hotel for the night. Charlie had been to The Reef in the summer, and there was a hotel attached to it, so we decided to stay at that one. Sam loves staying at hotel rooms because he loves jumping from one bed to the other. I had to tell him to quit after a while. The beds were spread apart more that usual, so Sam had to use a little more effort to jump. I was afraid he was going to break the beds.

Brett has to do whatever Sam does. But the beds were just too far apart for him. He would hit the side of the bed and fall to the floor. I had to help him a few times.

We spent most of the afternoon in the pools. Sam's favorite part was the water slides. One of the slides allowed you to go down two at a time on a tube. That's the one Sam liked. I went down with him probably 20 times, as did Charlie. Sam got brave once and went down by himself once. But he somehow fell off the tube and hit his head in the slide. At least it didn't scare him away from the slides. He went down with Charlie again after that.

Sam showed us how good he is doing at swimming under water.

Brett liked jumping to us from the edge of the pools. He would try putting his face in the water too, just like Sam. He did pretty good.

We had Amelia in the pool for a while. She liked it. She even got a face full of water in the wave pool at one point, but she didn't cry. After a while, she got tired, so she just cuddled with Grandma for the rest of the time.
We went to DQ for dinner. Brett fell asleep on the way there and refused to wake up. He woke up around the time he usually goes to bed, so he was up half the night. It made for a long Thanksgiving.

We went to Charlie's cousin's house for Thanksgiving. The boys enjoyed playing with their cousins.

Brett ended up crashing right before dinner.

We've had a hard time keeping Brett off the bunk bed. While he's up there, he plays with the ceiling fan, Sam's alarm clock, and the reading lamp. We taped off the side of the bed to keep him down. That worked for a while, but Brett found a way.

We taped off a bigger part since Sam had learned how to get up without the ladder part. That worked for a night. Then Brett used the window sill to climb up.

We finally took the blades off the ceiling fan and took away the lamp. Then we told Sam to sleep in Brett's bed if Brett keeps getting in his bed (Sam prefers the bottom bunk at the moment anyway). It seemed to work last night. Let's hope this solution will work.

We got a big box from an Amazon order. Sam thought it was a great box for a time machine. He would grab Brett and travel.

Oh my goodness! Amelia in the snow suit! Next time you are at their house, ask my mom to find a picture of me as a baby in some sort of jacket/coat/snow suit with a hood. I swear it looks just like that almost! :) <3
