In the morning, as we were getting ready to go to Byron for the parade, Sam said he was excited to be in the parade and throw candy. That was the first we had heard of it. We called Charlie's parents, and they told us that they told Sam he could be on the Lion's Club float if he wanted to. We rushed to get him ready, and Charlie took him up to Byron. I took Brett a little later with my parents.
Brett got the hang of things a lot better this time. It could have been that we were pretty much the only people on the block, so there was no one else to pick up candy. He still wouldn't go in the road without Grandma or Grandpa, which I will take as a good thing.
Sam had a good time being on the float. He excitedly threw us a bunch of candy :) He said he wants to do it again next year.
Charlie and Sam stayed in Byron to help with the lunch and I took Brett home to get a nap. Sam enjoyed playing on all the fun stuff they had.
We headed back to Byron for the fireworks. We planned on watching them in Cordova's yard, but there were a bunch of trees in the way, so we walked a block or so down to the church. It was a much clearer view.
We were still too far away from the park to get the full effect, but it's not safe for me to be that close to the big booms while I'm pregnant. Next year, we'll definitely be in the park :)
