Happy Halloween!

This year for Halloween, Sam wanted to be Sonic the Hedgehog. And what better costume for Brett than Sonic's sidekick, Tails? I was pretty proud of myself to start. I got an earlier start on making them. Last year, I was trying to finish the costumes as we were heading out the door to trick-or-treat. I never fully got Brett done.

I got the basic parts of both costumes done in early September. Then I completely neglected them, only working on them sporadically. I still did better than last year. I got them done the morning of Trunk-or-Treat.

Sam was very happy with it. Any time someone would tell him to show them a trick, he would just take off running, showing them how fast Sonic can go :)

We had chili and scones at the Trunk-or-Treat. I was smart enough to wait to put them in their costumes until after we ate. I was not smart enough to wait until after I washed Brett's face.
Brett didn't like getting his costume put on. The neck hole was a little small to get his head in, so we had to kind of force it on. After he go it on, he was fine though.

I got the jack-o-lanterns done the night before Halloween. I have a family that likes jack-o-lanterns, but no one likes making them. Sam hates the feel of the pumpkin guts, and Charlie just doesn't have the patie12ce23e4wsz1q`*sorry, Brett just climbed on the keyboard* As I was saying, Charlie doesn't have the patience for cutting them. So I ended up scraping and cutting all of them. Brett definitely enjoyed playing with the seeds.

 Here are the results.

This one was for Brett.

This one was for Charlie.

This one was for Sam. It took him about an hour and a half to settle on something.

And this one is mine. I took a page from one of my sister-in-law's coloring books that she makes and used it as a stencil. I thought it turned out pretty good.

Sam had a Spook Parade at school on Halloween. Basically, all the kids get on stage with their class and dance to a Halloween song. I wish my camera hadn't malfunctioned right when he was dancing, because he was really dancing up there. I was pretty cute. I should have taken a picture of Brett as well. He was pretty confused with what was happening.

Happy Halloween!
