Sam has been having a great time having a yard to play in. He was excited to start running through the sprinklers. It didn't matter that it was mid-April and still pretty chilly, he still wanted to do it.
April 19th was the day of the Easter Egg hunt in Byron. Saw was really excited for it. Unfortunately, there were tons of kids in his age group. When it started, he ran toward an egg, then fought over it with another girl. In the 5 seconds it took to get him to let go of that one and go for others, pretty much all the eggs were gone. He was able to find 2 eggs. As everyone was leaving, we went out searching for more eggs, but it was picked over. He was pretty sad about it.
We looked around and found a few more eggs that the other kids had missed. Sam definitely had more fun.
I wanted to do my own egg hunt with Sam, but it's not much fun when you do it by yourself. Luckily, my sister was coming into town, so we arranged to do it together. We just used plastic eggs so we could have a bunch for everyone. We stuck money in each one and hid them all over my parents' yard. Much more fun than by yourself :)
