I should probably post an update. It's been a while :)
Sam loved having some cousins to play with during Christmas.
Here's a fun game. When Sam was about 6 months old, I took some Christmas pictures of him. I did the same with Brett. Can you tell the difference?
Brett at 5 months old.
Sam wanted me to take pictures of him as well.
It's been great having a back yard. Sam loves to go out and play. Some days, it's too cold for Brett to play outside too, so he's content to watch Sam play.
Brett thought it was hilarious when Sam would throw snowballs at the window.
Brett went swimming for the first time. He's always enjoyed bath time, so we assumed he'd like swimming as well. Sure enough, he loved it.
Brett got his first taste of a dream bar. He kept grabbing it and trying to shove the whole thing in his mouth.
Charlie had to go to Cheyenne in February. He had a lot of down time while he was there, so he decided to drive to Laramie and watch a basketball game. While he was there, he sent me this picture:
Chips and salsa from Corona Village, our all-time favorite restaurant in Laramie. How rude!
While he was gone, we got to Face Time with him each night. Brett loved being able to see his dad.
Brett's been growing like crazy. He's 7 1/2 months now. According to the doctor, he's tall and skinny. Back in January one morning, Charlie was talking to him and said, "Ok baby, I have to go flip the food. I'm going to put you on your tummy, and you're going to roll while I'm gone." When Charlie went back into the room, Brett had rolled over. That was the first time he'd ever rolled over. Later that night, he learned to roll from back to front. Then in February, a similar thing happened. Charlie told Brett to start crawling, and he did. I told Charlie he needs to tell Brett to potty train himself next :) Brett has also learned how to pull himself up to stand, but he doesn't know how to get back down. It wouldn't be so bad if we didn't have so many hard floors. He also learned how to climb stairs. I've been trying to teach him how to go back down, but I haven't had much luck there.
Sam has been doing great as well. He has decided that a fun place to read and watch movies is in Brett's crib. I'm not really sure why, but he likes it. He's doing great in school and progressing really well. He had his special day in school the other day. Basically, he got to do a little presentation about himself, then he brought something for show and tell, then all the kids told a reason why Sam was special. Then he got to bring a snack. I think he enjoyed it for the most part, but I don't think he likes being the center of attention at school.
In January, I got called as the secretary in the Young Women program. It's been pretty fun, but stressful at times. Soon after we were finally getting settled, they switched the ward boundaries and we basically had to start everything over again. But I've had fun with it :)
Charlie's still doing great at his job. He's got plenty of clients to keep him busy now. To start with, it seemed like he was home all the time.
We were able to go to the park the one day that there's been nice weather. Brett got to experience a swing. I think he liked it.
We also recently got a new trampoline. It sat in the box in our garage for a couple weeks because it was never warm enough to set it up. There was finally a day that I thought would be warm enough, so I started setting it up. But the weather turned pretty quickly, and it got cold. I got the majority of it done, but then had to stop because it was too cold. It was done enough to jump on, and Sam was really excited, so I let him go ahead and jump on it. It was 30* while he was out there. I kept asking him if he wanted to come in, but he kept saying no. He's been jumping on it whenever he can, but he hasn't been able to for the past couple of days because of the snow we got. He's been pretty bummed.
Well, that should pretty much catch me up.
