Denver

On Saturday, we woke up and decided to spend the day in Denver. It had been a long time since Charlie had an entire day off free of anything, so we wanted to have some fun. It took quite a while to get to Denver. We went through Fort Collins. There had been a storm a couple days before, so the wind blew all the snow onto the roads. The sun was out, so the snow was turning to slush. We passed a ton of cars that had gone off the road and got stuck in the snow drifts on the side of the road. But the road conditions changed right at the Colorado border, so we had no other problems after that. I decided to check out Craig's list to see if there was anything on there that was being sold in the Denver area, and I got a great deal. I found someone selling tons of Stampin' Up Stamp sets (don't be mad, Karen. They were retired ones, so I couldn't have bought them from you :) I got 9 sets for $69. And they were brand new sets too. Now I just have to find the time to use them.
Charlie wanted to try the food at the aquarium, so we went over there. The food was pretty expensive, so we thought it would be a better idea to eat somewhere else and use the money that we saved on the food to actually go to the aquarium. Sam has been obsessed with fish lately. We have to stop by and see the fish at Walmart whenever we go. One day I had some stuff to do at the college, and at one point, we passed an office that had a fish tank in it. Sam was mesmerized. The entire time I was getting paperwork done, he stood there and stared at the fish. That's when he started saying, "fishy." So we decided that Sam might really enjoy going to the aquarium. When we actually got there, I wasn't sure we would be able to go through the aquarium. Sam was too interested in the first attraction, the bubble machine:
I don't know how long he played there, but after he heard we were going to go look at fish, he stopped. Sam had a great time looking at all the different kinds of fish. He did great, especially considering it was getting close to 4 pm. and the only nap he had all day was about a 5 minute nap when he fell asleep while we were parking.

He's saying, "fishy." :)

He really liked this dome. You basically climb underneath a table and look through this dome so you can see the fish from a different angle.

He even learned a new word: Tiger.

I wasn't expecting a tiger exhibit, so it scared me a little when we rounded a corner and there was a huge tiger right there. It was hard to tear Sam away.
Checking out the tiger.

We bought Sam a bouncy ball and a flashlight that has little attachments to put over the light so it will project animals on the wall. He loves it. He'll point it at the wall and chase the animals around the room. He had a great time.
Overall, it was a really fun day just being able to spend the day with each other and not have to worry about anything else.

That sounds like so much fun! Sam is SO adorable. (btw, if one of those stamp sets happens to be "coupon for you" I'll totally buy it from you). I've been looking for that one since I started Stampin' Up! (not started demo-ing...but started buying..can't find it anywhere.)
