Things have been going too fast lately. The last time I posted something, it felt like I still had a long time until moving back to Laramie. That was almost a month ago! So here's a recap, at least the stuff I can remember.
We finally found another vehicle. It's a Chevy S10. We've been wanting a little truck, and this was just a little above our price range. Unfortunately, Charlie took it up to the mountain to work, and it overheated. When he got back home, we opened up the hood, and there was coolant splattered all over. It was over 2 gallons low on coolant. So we took it into the dealership where we got it, and the pressurized it and found no leaks. He installed a new thermostat, which seemed to help...for a while. We headed to Basin to get the license plates. Long story short, we didn't get the plates, and on the way home, in between Greybull and Lovell, the truck overheated, and then it wouldn't start. Luckily, we were in cell phone range, and we were able to get a hold of my dad and he was able to tow us back to Lovell. Looking at the bight side of things, it could have happened on our way back to Laramie, so it's a good thing it happened then. We took it back to the dealer yet again, and he put in a new radiator. Since we didn't get the plates before, we headed back the next day to Basin to test the radiator and get the plates. It didn't heat up a bit, so hopefully it's fixed.
As for our car, we got the transmission fixed. It took longer than we thought it would because after they ripped our transmission out, they found out that the axle was frozen. So they had to fix that before the could fix the transmission. Luckily, the repairs cost about $350 less than they said it would.
I've been working on getting my parents' garage organized, and I've been planning to make a work bench for them, but I kept forgetting to get the wood for it. Then, a few days ago, I found some cupboards that someone was giving away (I'm guessing they just didn't want to pay to take them to the landfill). One of them will work great for a work table, so all I have to do is put some plywood on it, and that will be it. It saves me a bunch of work, and time, considering I don't have much of that left.
Wednesday: It took a little more work than just slapping a piece of plywood on the top. To begin with, I didn't have a, electric saw. Well, I did, but my dad would let me use it because it doesn't have a guard and my dad was afraid I would cut my head off, so I had to cut everything by hand. We decided the table would work better if it had a bigger top, so I had to build legs for it. Then I noticed that the leftover piece would fit perfect as a shelf underneath, so I had to build supports for that. Then the drill I wanted to use wasn't working very well, so I had to use a different drill that only has one speed: really fast.
Here's Sam helping me tighten the screws. He was so funny while I was doing this. He was just playing outside as I was working, but every time I started the drill, he would start yelling. I think he thought the drill was yelling at him. It was a really loud drill.
Here's the finished product. It's pretty simple, but my mom's really excited about it. I also put together my Dad's scroll saw. It works really well, especially considering I put the blade on backwards :) It's not too hard to fix.
Sam has had his cousins down for a while, and he seems to be enjoying himself. He's getting along with them great, even though they're stealing attention away from the grandparents. Here's Sam and Rebecca.
Now here's what I like about this next one. I finally had them both standing still. Then Eva noticed the camera and started to pose for it. Unfortunately, she turned and stood right in the way of Sam. You can see a little part of him to her left.
Tomorrow is Charlie's last day of work. He's sad that he's leaving and is going to have to actually be around other people again :) He's going to drive down tonight, and I'll go back up with him tomorrow so I can clean his camper. Gene (someone Charlie works with) was apparently trying to make him feel guilty for having me come up and clean it tomorrow. I figure, as soon as it's clean (which it should already be fairly clean, as long as Charlie didn't trash it :), I can relax a little, maybe read a book or play a computer game or something.
I haven't hardly packed at all yet, and we're leaving here Thursday. My only day to pack is Wednesday, so hopefully I'll be able to get it all done then. If not, we'll just get a late start Thursday. No big deal.
Here's some other random pictures. This is Sam playing in the sprinklers. He loves the water!
Just waking up from a nap.
His first taste of corn on the cob. Yummy!
Well, now I need to actually get packing. I'm running out of time. To make things even worse, it's raining here, so hopefully we'll be able to get the truck in the garage so I can load our stuff up without everything getting wet.

He's all grown up!!! I am so sad I missed all his "baby" moments. I really want to get up to see him soon. I will get with you to work something out...
anyway. The truck does look nice. Especially against the backdrop of the trees. I hope it works for you. You're lucky to get the repairs done. So many times you see "as is" mean "as is".
I am impressed with your woodworking skills. Maybe you will have to help me make Aaron a workbench if you guys ever get down here again.
This post was so fun to read! Great job on the work bench! Good luck with the truck and moving back to Laramie. Sam is such a cutie! :)
WOW! Can you say "overachiever"? That bench is AWESOME! I was going to wait until Sean got home, maybe I will just make you come here and make my..well I don't know what it's called, my little laundry thing. Free Room and Board while you're here...and you get to be with your sister...you know you want to. Sam looks so cute.
